Equiping the Saint for the Ministry

At 12, Brother Weeks received his First Communion at Quickels Lutheran Church in Zions View, Pennsylvania. At this time, he hardly ever attended church or gave much thought to the Lord. Then in the fall of 1971, an accident sent him to the hospital, where he lay unconscious for three days. As he regained consciousness, his doctors told him he was very fortunate to be alive. Through this event, he began to wonder what would have happened to him had he died the day of the accident. This was the beginning of his longing to be at peace with God. This led him to seek the Lord. He was saved in March of 1973, and shortly after that, he was called to serve in the gospel ministry.
In 1980, he and his family moved to Greenville, South Carolina, to begin studying for the ministry. He graduated from Tabernacle Baptist Bible College and was ordained by Dr. Harold B. Sightler and the Tabernacle Baptist Church in March of 1984. He did his post-graduate studies at Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina, and Goethe Institute in Munich, Germany. He received his M.A. in Theology from Immanuel Baptist College in Atlanta, Georgia, and a Doctor of Divinity D.D. (honorary) from Tabernacle Baptist Bible College in Greenville, South Carolina. He, his wife, and six children began serving in Austria in 1985 as a church planting missionary.
In May of 1993, he and his family returned to the States from Austria, and he began serving in Cult Evangelism. His book, Evangelizing JWs, was first published in September of 1993 and has received some good reviews. He founded Baptist World Cult Evangelism (BWCE) in 1994 as a part of Macedonia's efforts to reach all people with the gospel of Jesus Christ. He also founded FACING THE FACTS, BWCE's information and publishing service that provides evangelistic materials to help others win the cults to Christ—the year 1994 also marked the beginning of the first hotline phone ministry to Jehovah's Witnesses (JWs). In recent years, two Internet websites were added, http://www.ftfacts.com and https://www.jwinfo.net, to reach the unreached in the cyberspace world of the Internet. His most recent publication is CHECKMATE for Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses. It was released in November 2013 and can be previewed at Amazon.com.
Brother Dave Weeks has purposed to go wherever he is needed to reach JWs and help others do the same. During the first ten years of the hotline ministry, the Lord has blessed his efforts with an average of one JW coming to a saving knowledge of Christ every two months. His greatest desire is to commit what he has learned in over 30 years of cult evangelism to faithful men who shall be able to teach others also.

What is a Cult?

If one were to talk with ten different people who are "cult experts," most likely he or she would get a different definition of what a cult is from each of them.
